planning the future...sort of

ben and i were up late last night talking about plans for the future. he wants to travel and live in new zealand like jason did. and live in maine. i'd love to travel to new zealand, too, and go back to maine. but i like it here, too. i love my job. sure, aspects of living here could be better, but i'm happy.
i will say this, though...life in maine felt way simpler. i'd drive to work, pump out lattes for eight hours, drive to ben's house and watch a movie or make love or both. we'd hang out with friends, drive places, and get so excited every time his parents were going away for a week because it meant we could spend nights together. there was nothing better.
i'll share the one thing i absolutely despise about living here...car horns. i'd never before been to a place where people communicate more through their car horns than their own vocal cords. makes me want to run around with a mallet and bash peoples' cars. and the police would get all upset, "destruction of private property, yadda yadda yadda," but i'd simply explain calmly that i'm essentially performing a public service and making california a better place to live in. they'd have to understand.
well, i think it's time to go check the mailbox. toodles, my doves.
